


Furtwangen in the Black Forest –
at the source
Furtwangen is the highest town in Baden-Württemberg with between 850 and 1.150 meters above sea level. The source of the danube and of the Elz are situated here. One of the touristic hotspots is the German Clock Museum with one of the biggest collection of Black Forest clocks. The watchmaker’s craft is the origin for modern industry in Furtwangen.
Education, sport and environment have always been important in Furtwangen. Although the city has only about 10.000 inhabitants, you can find e huge amount of education and child care institutions. Children at the age of about six weeks until young adults in the ski elite school and in the Furtwangen University find their place. Furthermore, you can find a lot of schools for all needs and capabilities.
